The Wedding of the Blogosphere

Perhaps you weren’t able to make it up here to Alaska to see Elle and Dan get hitched, but the wedding was awesome if I say so myself. What a great wedding planner I am! :) Anyway, the majority of the guests watched the wedding live via our church’s webcast in living rooms and home offices in a setting similar to this:

I love my church!

Being a non-traditional Lutheran (yes, they do exist) I really enjoy Monday night services. We use evening devotion instead of the liturgy, and the atmosphere is much more relaxed. Tonight Pastor told me to pick my favorites out of LAPPY (the WELS songbook) which was like being handed the moon. So, of all my favorites, I settled on these three tonight:

1. Shine, Jesus, Shine
2. Do Lord (a new one I had to teach them)
3. Pass it On

What a great service! If I had my way we’d sing at least one song out of LAPPY every week. As far as music goes, I think I’m a Lutheran Baptist! I play the piano as much as possible (for the whole service on Mondays and for all but the liturgy and “high church” hymns on Sundays).

Happy Stuck Day

To me and my hubby–It was seven years ago today that my best friend’s brother was taking me out for a drive in Juneau–showing off a little in his truck as guys usually do–and got stuck. What was so significant about that? I felt so bad for him I held his hand and he didn’t take it away! That night at Bible Study all I could think about was how I had to talk to him and find out if he was as crazy about me as I was about him. He sure was–and still is! I can’t believe it’s been seven years! I still get all goofy over him. What a guy! Glad I married him!!

My Quote of the Day

“Let the Word speak for itself. The Bible is not to be interpreted, it is to be taught. It interprets and explains itself.”

Happy Joyaversary!

Today is my Grandma’s Joyaversary–a term coined by my brother after my Dad died to signify the earthly anniversary of entering into heaven. Obviously for them (i.e. Dad, Grandma, and other saints) there is no time and therefore always a celebration, but for us left behind these Joyaversaries are happy-sad times.
It’s funny how a year later I still miss writing to her every week, chatting about nothing sometimes. She was a very special Grandma.
