Last night was pretty dramatic to say the least. The house across the street from us caught fire. About 7 I smelled smoke but there wasn’t anything I could see except a little smoke coming out of the chimney of the house…then the garage…then flames at the top of the garage door. The driver of a red truck passing by tried to break down the door by ramming into it a couple times before giving up as flames burst through the garage. Not the smartest idea. The response trucks of the fire dept were awesome though. When I saw the smoke first come out of the garage and yelled to Sean that a house was on fire we could hear sirens as he was calling 911. The fire was out in less than 15 minutes. Today I called our insurance first thing to make sure our policy was in order. Also had very itchy eyes, throat, and lungs from standing outside watching all the action. The newspaper article said there was a man inside, but I didn’t see anyone come out of the garage or talk to any firemen. Not sure where they got that info. The article also said he drove his truck through the garage. I saw the whole thing, that little red truck just put a dent in the garage door. Anyway, I don’t know the family, but we’ve been praying for them. We haven’t seen them around, even to clean up, so I’m assuming they’re being taken care of. No word on how the fire started.
