CSI Premieres tonight!

‘Nuff said.

CSI: Miami Season Premiere tonight!

I can’t wait! I can’t wait!! I can’t wait!!!

Krusty the Crawdad

No, he’s not dead. In fact, he’s very much alive! Sean says he’s dug up all the plants (and eaten a good share of them), the lava rock, and the other rock thing in the tank. He also says Krusty reminds him of our nephew Isaiah–always on the go having to do something. At least Krusty keeps Sean from going crazy at work!

A Sad Day at the Moose Report

Mr. “Wiggles” Wigglesworth, formerly of Petco, died Tuesday in his aquarium at an ACS cubicle. The funeral will be held later Tuesday in the men’s bathroom on the first floor. Burial will be in the sewer system.
Mr. Wigglesworth was a black moor goldfish adopted from Petco on Sunday and lovingly transported to his aquarium where he was watched and cared for throughout his recent illness.
Survivors include his owners, Sean and Rachel, a crawdad, and four live aquatic plants.

A Great Post…

My brother linked to this post about why young people are leaving the WELS. There is a simple, yet effective solution.

Outrageous Reporting

A friend sent me this link to a slideshow courtesy of WWLTV of the devastation in New Orleans. This picture caught my attention. Why? Because of the caption:

A man trapped on the roof of his house tries to get the attention of a helicopter for rescue after floodwaters rose in New Orleans Tuesday.

NO

My first thought was “You idiot! YOU’RE in a helicopter!!!” I tell ya, I’m getting more and more ticked off at reporters. I’m glad Erica at Journalistic Jargon has seen the light and I can only hope my MiL doesn’t pursue reporting as a career. Apparently one of the requirements is put your job over the needs of others.

Guess I’m too slow…

I was going to blog about an article my brother gave me about Changepoint, the largest church in Anchorage, but my sister-in-law and brother got to the blog first. Oh, well, I’m still going to throw in my two cents worth here.

On page 3 of the article where Clausen reported that the renewal came after he started “preaching and teaching about a joy-filled life of spiritual transformation.” This reminded me of what I encountered at the Alliance church my hubby and I had attended for a year and another nondenominational church I attended with a friend prior to that. In both those churches, the preachers were big on spiritual transformation. Unfortunately, it was mostly law motivation, not Gospel motivation. The Gospel was hardly heard except right before an altar call!

I know quite a few people with strong feelings–positive and negative–about Changepoint. I know that quite a few people have been drawn there from other nondenominational churches because of the excitement of how fast they are growing. I have met and have sung with members of several of their worship teams. My concern is that the focus seems to be on what God can do for them. This is not isolated to just Changepoint, but other nondenominational churches here as well.

I couldn’t have said it better myself!

This post is so excellent I am compelled to link to it. Well said, Random Dan!
